Obama’s Chicago Way

Part I: Introduction

The following information about the film Obama’s Chicago Way is taken from the LMDB (website, better known as the Liberal Movie Database. The LMDB is a joint project between George Soros and the DNC (Democratic National Committee) to promote far Left media in order to start a socialist revolution in the USA. The LMDB is the #1 website for information on far Left media in the world. The LMDB proudly boasts that the site gets more hits from North Korea, Cuba, Iran and Venezuela than all the rest of the web put together.

Most easily understood quote from the film Obama’s Chicago Way:

I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face….You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case [my emphasis].

Senator Barrack Obama speaking to his supporters on September 17, telling the world by the words and actions of his confrontational ambassadors that he’s really a thug out to intimidate or bully the American people.

This film is rated by the LMDB as AACT: anti-American, communist and terrorist.
It’s been produced and financed by the DNC to destroy your love for America.
Obama’s Chicago Way has the strong support and approval of ultra-liberal Hollywood.

Cast for the film Obama’s Chicago Way:
Sean Connery as Chief Strategist David Axelrod
Kevin Costner as Barrack Obama; Codename: Mr. Ness
Patriot and disabled war hero John McCain; Codename: Capone

Note: The frequent use of code and codenames in this film is to hide the truth.

Most important quotes from (and some analysis of) Obama’s Chicago Way:

The following well-known remarks are from Barack Obama’s speech on Super Tuesday:

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

What Obama doesn’t tell you is that most of his best lines are “borrowed” from other people without attribution. “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for” was a phrase in use years before Obama said it, see here and here. “We are the change that we seek” looks to me to be a slight reworking of Ghandi’s “We must become the change we want to see in the world” (look not only at the similarity of ideas, but at the words I’ve emphasized in bold and the ordering of those words). Obama’s public image has been carefully manufactured to hide the real Obama. If you think I’m overstating my case, read on.

On January 7 former President Bill Clinton said:

It is wrong that Senator Obama got to go through 15 debates trumpeting his superior judgment and how he had been against the war in every year, enumerating the years, and never got asked one time — not once, ‘Well, how could you say that when you said in 2004 you didn’t know how you would have voted on the resolution?’ You said in 2004 there was no difference between you and George Bush on the war. And you took that speech you’re now running on off your Web site in 2004. And there’s no difference in your voting record and Hillary’s ever since. Give me a break. This whole thing is the biggest fairy tale I’ve ever seen [my emphasis].

This political argument by former President Bill Clinton — Obama consistently opposing the Iraq war was a big fairy tale — was turned by Obama supporters into the slander that former President Bill Clinton was saying Obama’s candidacy for president was a fairy tale. Sean Wilentz analyzed the Obama campaign’s role in using race to smear Bill and Hillary Clinton in “How Barrack Obama Played the Race Card and Blamed Hillary Clinton.” If Obama is capable of slandering not only Hillary Clinton but also former President Bill Clinton (admittedly, not my favorite guy, but he’s still a former president and very popular within the Democratic Party), what else is Obama capable of doing in his quest for presidential power? Read on.

While the Leftist MSM (mainstream media) ignored the next story — Fox News did report it — there are serious and what I, Mr. Smith, believe to be credible charges that the Obama campaign used sleazy, strong-arm tactics — typical of the corrupt politics from Obama’s Chicagoin the Democratic caucuses to steal delegates for Obama (more on this theft in the next paragraph). Since Obama’s Chief Strategist and Media Advisor is David Axelrod who, although considered to be idealistic, worked for Mayor Richard Daley and other corrupt Democratic machine candidates, perhaps the stealing of delegates in the Democratic caucuses shouldn’t be too surprising. It should also be remembered that in previous campaigns Obama has played political hardball against his opponents. In the 1996 election for the Illinois State Senate from the 13th district — a heavily Democratic district in Chicago — Obama used lawyers to disqualify four opponentsincluding his mentor Alice Palmer — so that he could run unopposed in a primary guaranteeing his win in the 1996 election. In 2000, Obama challenged an incumbent for a Congressional seat and, in a fair fight, lost badly. By 2004, Obama had become a client of David Axelrod, who started his career as a political reporter at the Chicago Tribune and rose to become City Hall bureau chief before becoming a political consultant. In the Democratic primary of 2004, Obama was running in the Democratic primary against M. Blair Hull. Hull was ahead until the Chicago Tribune (Axelrod’s former paper where he had been City Hall bureau chief) published an article in which Hull was accused of beating his ex-wife. Hull’s campaign collapsed after an allegation of wife beating was found after his divorce records were unsealed. It’s been reported that the Obama campaign had “worked aggressively behind the scenes” to push the story. (See the 3rd Note here as well as section III here, also here, here, and here.) After winning the Democratic primary, Obama faced the well-funded Republican Jack Ryan. Once again the Chicago Tribune led a fight against an Obama opponent to get divorce records unsealed. Jack Ryan’s campaign collapsed when allegations of forcing his wife to go to sex clubs was found in the divorce papers. Once again the Obama campaign — through Obama’s backers — was reported to have been actively involved in “pushing the story.” (See this article — especially reference 7 — also here and here.) Obama then went on to win over weak opposition in the general election and become the U.S. Senator from Illinois in 2004. Businessweek in March 2008 called Axelrod, “the master of Astroturfing,” for work he did for corporate clients in planting stories to change public opinion, which is exactly what happened in the 2004 election to Obama’s opponents. When you have a history of brutal and dirty campaigning, stealing delegates in caucuses is just a logical step forward.

From Gigi Gaston’s web site by way of NO QUARTER:

This documentary is about the disenfranchising of American citizens by the Democratic Party and the Obama Campaign. We the People have made this film. Democrats have sent in their stories from all parts of America. We want to be heard and let the country know how our party has sanctioned the actions of what we feel are Obama campaign “Chicago Machine” dirty politics. We believe this infamous campaign of “change” from Chicago encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote, which is, of course, all documented in “We Will Not Be Silenced.”

Watch part 1 of “We Will Not Be Silenced,” which is shown directly below. Some documentation for these charges can be found at Absolute Fraud, Caucus Fraud, and here. Please finish reading my entire post in the order that I wrote it (I know it’s long, but I think it’ll be worth it); you’ll find parts 2, 3 and 4 of “We Will Not Be Silenced” at the very end of this article.

We Will Not Be Silenced – Part 1

Part II: Did Obama Slime Sarah Palin?

On March 13, 2008 ABC News showed video of Obama’s pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, saying “God damn America,” and the U.S. deserved 911 because we’ve behaved as a terrorist nation. In other speeches, Wright has also blamed the U.S. for “inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color.” Since Obama was a member of Trinity for 20 years and called Wright his spiritual mentor, these statements raised questions as to Obama’s judgment, character, and beliefs. What received very little media attention, however, was that the Church teaching of Trinity United Church of Christ, which claims to be Christian, is a form of liberation theology, i.e., Marxist class struggle mixed with some Christianity.

Obama on March 18, 2008 defended his spiritual mentor, the Reverend Wright:

I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmothera woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe [my emphasis].

Obama showed poor judgment for even bringing his loving grandmother (who helped raise him) into this conversation. But defending Reverend Wright from his racist statements made in public by “throwing grandma under the bus” — revealing before the entire world (even while she’s still alive and can be embarrassed by it) what she said privately to himwas nuts. I’m sure grandma loves him enough to forgive him but should we? What an arrogant dope!! (Note: The Wikipedia article for Obama’s grandmother has long-time colleagues from her working days saying she never said anything racist to them. Use your own judgment in deciding if Obama is telling the truth about his grandmother, or just made it up to deflect criticism of his relationship with the Reverend Wright.)

“The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is a typical white person” [my emphasis]. Obama on March 20, 2008 kicking granny hard to see if she’s still alive after throwing her under the bus and running her over with it.

Obama on April 29, 2008 finally threw the racist Reverend Wright under the bus:

The person that I saw yesterday was not the person that I met 20 years ago, he said. His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but I believe that they end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate, and I believe that they do not portray accurately the perspective of the black church” [my emphasis].

It’s interesting that Wright’s comments are only divisive and destructive, but hatred is what Wright’s opponents feed or prey on. In Obama’s Leftist world, this code probably means — as we’ll see in later quotes — that Republicans are responsible for hatred and racism, not the Reverend Wright. Even worse than this damaging nonsense, Obama still didn’t publicly apologize to his old granny for his idiotic behavior in ruining her reputation to protect the lunatic Reverend Wright.

Obama on June 14, 2008 at a Philadelphia fundraiser said:

If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun [my emphasis]. Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.

Obama echoed the video trailer of Obama’s Chicago Way that you can see by scrolling up to the the top of this post, and showed his need to intimidate or bully the opposition when speaking of fighting Republican attacks on his campaign. At least he hasn’t sent anyone to the morgue yet… I think. Forget about a “new politics.” Bye bye “hope” and “change.” Now Obama wants to shoot Republicans as if he’s hunting Moose in Alaska. As Gilda Radner used to say many years ago on Saturday Night Live, “Never mind.”

Obama on June 21, 2008:

They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?” [my emphasis].

Obama slyly slandering, demonizing, and scapegoating the McCain camp with a false charge of racism.

Obama on July 30, 2008:

They know that you’re not real happy with them and so the only way they figure they’re going to win this election is if they make you scared of me. What they’re saying is ‘Well, we know we’re not very good but you can’t risk electing Obama. You know, he’s new, he doesn’t look like the other presidents on the currency, he’s a got a funny name’ [my emphasis].

Obama not only playing subtle racist politics against the McCain camp again, but also trying to shame and verbally intimidate (bully) anyone who won’t vote for him by claiming it’s only because of racism.

Sarah Palin comparing her resume to that of Obama’s at the Republican Convention on September 3, 2008:

Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities” [my emphasis].

Sarah Palin fulfilled the VP candidate role by blasting Obama at the Republican Convention on September 3, 2008:

This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word “victory” except when he’s talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed … when the roar of the crowd fades away … when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot – what exactly is our opponent’s plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he’s done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make government bigger … take more of your money … give you more orders from Washington … and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world. America needs more energy … our opponent is against producing it.

BTW, Joe Biden fulfilled the VP candidate role by attacking John McCain in his acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention.

“What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?” she asked. “Lipstick” [my emphasis]. Sarah’s best line from her acceptance speech on September 3, 2008, which got huge cheers at the Republican convention and was talked about for days afterward.

“There wasn’t one thing that she said about Obama or what he’s proposing that’s true,” ‘fumed Obama’s strategist David Axelrod‘ ” [my emphasis]. The Obama campaign’s reaction on September 4, 2008 to Sarah Palin’s speech at the Republican Convention was intense anger.

While attacking John McCain’s policies on September 9, less than a week after Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech, Obama said:

That’s not change. That’s just calling some — the same thing, something different. But you know, you can — you know, you can put lipstick on a pig; it’s still a pig. The Illinois senator continued: You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink after eight years. We’ve had enough of the same old thing [my emphasis].

Ben Smith at Politico observed that “many in the Obama crowd leaped to their feet in delight – apparently taking the “pig” comment as a direct slam at Palin.” In an update he added latter that day: “Obama’s surrogates were joking that Palin’s record can’t be concealed with lipstick, it was hard for those following the campaign not to hear the echo” [my emphasis].

When the McCain camp complained that Obama was calling “Palin a pig,” Obama aide Anita Dunn said the following:

Enough is enough. The McCain campaign’s attack tonight is a pathetic attempt to play the gender card about the use of a common analogy – the same analogy that Senator McCain himself used about Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s health care plan just last year. This phony lecture on gender sensitivity is the height of cynicism and lays bare the increasingly dishonorable campaign John McCain has chosen to run [my emphasis].

On September 10, 2008 Obama responded to the controversy by saying:

“I don’t care what they say about me. But I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and Swift-boat politics. Enough is enough.”

So, did he or didn’t he? Did Obama slime Palin, then deny it? Or not? Most people who have asked these questions treat this as an isolated incident. Then for context they ask if Obama, McCain or others have used similar language in the past. (While Politico did note the activity of the crowd as well as Obama’s campaign surrogates on September 9, that’s still too narrow a view. See also here.) Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident. This is how the Obama campaign operates all the time. In other words, there’s a pattern of misconduct here that goes beyond insulting a political opponent. Even though Obama at times sounds like Martin Luther King, in his heart, he’s pure Al Capone. Don’t believe me? Let’s review the tactics used by the Obama campaign that we’ve covered so far (please review everything I’ve written in this article so far if you have any doubts): lying, slandering, demeaning, shaming, verbal intimidation (bullying), race baiting, stealing of delegates and strong-arm tactics (there was physical intimidation at some of the Democratic caucuses, as you’ll see in parts 2, 3, and 4 of “We Will Not Be Silenced,” which is at the very end of this article). A political messiah wouldn’t do these things, but Al Capone would.

Obama is playing a game with McCain/Palin that I call “kicking under the table.” Let me illustrate: Two siblings are sitting together at a family gathering. The older one kicks the younger one under the table. When the younger sibling complains, the parents tell the younger one to calm down. The older sibling smiles innocently and feels superior, while the younger one looks foolish. When the younger one calms down, the older sibling can at any time start the fun all over again with a single kick. This kind of bullying happens among kids, but what kind of a man campaigns for president by kicking under the table? Look at the response of the Obama campaign to the incident with Palin they created. Instead of saying in a conciliatory way: this is an unfortunate misunderstanding, this was an attack on policy and not meant as a personal insult, and we all need to focus on the issues and just move on; the Obama campaign used this incident to make further slanderous attacks on McCain/Palin. Obama’s attack on September 10 was particularly slimy, vicious, and excessive by dishonestly charging John McCain with “lies and phony outrage and Swift-boat politics” [my emphasis]. Particularly obnoxious was the implication that only Obama loves his country enough to act honorably — “I love this country too much….” I suppose we should all forget about John McCain’s military record and years as a POW, and then his long service as a U.S. Senator. I also found the “let them take over another election” to be full of the lies, phony outrage, and Swift-boat politics that Obama is accusing McCain of. Who’s “them” that will “take over”? George Bush and Dick Cheney aren’t running again. McCain isn’t Bush, and Palin sure isn’t Cheney! This whole incident was manufactured by the Obama campaign and is classic kicking under the table.

Disgusting, isn’t it? Wait, we still haven’t gotten to the worst part yet. The second part of Obama’s original attack was: “You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink after eight years. We’ve had enough of the same old thing” [my emphasis]. Through a friend I learned about the slang meaning of fish, particularly stinking fish. Being a skeptical person, I, of course, checked it out on the web. If you’re not easily offended — warning vulgar and crude language — then see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. I also found bloggers (see Big Dog, Hillary or Bust, American Digest, and Fausta) who came to conclusions that are similar to the one I came to: Obama deliberately used the slang equivalent of the C-word to insult Palin.

Remember, this is all part of the game of kicking under the table: say or do something ambiguous and very insulting; when the other side responds, kick them hard and nasty again and again. Besides the obvious political benefits — making your opponents seem foolish, old, out-of-touch, corrupt, and incompetent — there’s an emotional component to this too. When I first mentioned this game, I pointed out that the older sibling who’s initiating this gets to smile innocently and feel superior. Obama had been ahead in the polls and behaving arrogantly (see also here and here), as if he’d already been elected president. Suddenly, Palin comes on the scene, blasts Obama at the Republican Convention, and the polls start shifting. Obama’s bound to be angry and feeling insecure — Axelrod, the Chief Strategist and master backstabber (“the master of Astroturfing”), was reported by the press as fuming on September 4 (see the Sptember 4 quote above). Demeaning Palin in public and getting away with it would be a big ego-boost for Obama. When you’re as arrogant as Obama, it takes a lot of bullying to keep your ego inflated.

One final thought on Obama’s kicking under the table: He treats women worse than he does men. It’s not just the slang equivalent of the C-word. I first started thinking along these lines when Obama slimed and demeaned his own grandmother — who even he admits is “a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world” [my emphasis] — to protect a racist, lunatic Reverend Jeremiah Wright (see the quotes above from March 13 onward). As further evidence, although this isn’t 100% clear — which is why this belongs in the kicking under the table category — it looks like Obama gave Hillary Clinton “the finger” — the physical equivalent of using the C-word — during one of his speeches (see here, here, here, and here). I’m not a psychologist, but I believe Obama has some serious emotional issues with women. Whatever is going on, it isn’t good.

Since about mid-September — after the controversy died down over whether Obama insulted Palin — the Obama campaign left the racist slandering to surrogates and their allies in the Leftist MSM. On September 16, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius accused Republicans of using racist “code language” to attack Barack Obama. “Have any of you noticed that Barack Obama is part African-American?” Sebelius asked sarcastically. “(Republicans) are not going to go lightly into the darkness.” Governor Kathleen Sebelius demeaned herself, her party, her state and Democratic women politicians by adopting the bigoted, race baiting tactics of the Obama campaign. She slimed and smeared everyone — Republican, Democrat and Independent — who won’t vote for Obama without a single shred of proof of racism. Shame on you, Governor Sebelius! Obama sold out his integrity for the presidency. What’s your excuse?

On September 24, Florida Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings said:

If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention. Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through [my emphasis].

After taking the Congressman’s wise advice and thinking this through, I’ve decided that what Congressman Hastings is hinting at is Moosehunter = Genocide for Blacks and Jews. This is the demagogic logic of the far Left and the Obama campaign, even though Sarah Palin showed she cared enough about human life to bring a Down syndrome baby into this world. Amazingly, this comment is very similar to the satirical piece I wrote called “Dick Cheney Shoots Another Camping Companion.”

On October 4, Sarah Palin said:

We see America as the greatest force for good in this world, Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, Our opponent though, is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.

Douglass K. Daniel of the AP commented in an analysis published by the Associated Press:

And though she may have scored a political hit each time, her attack was unsubstantiated and carried a racially tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret [my emphasis].

The terrorists Palin was referring to were William Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dorhn. Although Obama has tried to make the relationship appear as casual as possible, a recent fact check by Drew Griffin of CNN points out “…the relationship between Obama and Ayers went much deeper, ran much longer, and was much more political than Obama said.” Watch the whole CNN piece or get a transcript. As pointed out here, here, and here, it’s impossible to advance in Chicago Democratic politics without being sponsored by someone. No matter how much he may try to minimize or soft-pedal it now, Obama chose as his main sponsors in Chicago politics the racist Reverend Wright and the far Left terrorist William Ayers. In Chicago, Leftist racists and unapologetic terrorists are acceptable parts of the political system, but no mavericks — or God forbid, Republicans! — need apply.

As to Mr. Daniel of the AP and others like him, many in the the Leftist MSM are now actively participating in the election on the side of the Democratic Party by attacking every criticism of Obama as racist. With these allies the Democrats no longer need to rely on either their candidates or surrogates to do the demeaning and racial slandering of Republicans that we saw earlier in the campaign. While the Leftist MSM pretend objectivity — with some notable and very welcome exceptions like Drew Griffin — they’re now kicking under the table for Obama.

Part III: The Section(s) I Didn’t Write

I don’t have the knowledge, the time, or even the energy to write about everything that would fall under the categories of Obama’s Chicago-style deception, corruption, and campaign of intimidation. Fortunately, others have written about Obama illegally accepting foreign money as campaign contributions (also here), Obama as “an active member of the now-defunct socialist New Party” (also here, here, here, here, and here), the Obama campaign attempts to suppress free speech, which is amazing since Obama taught constitutional law (see here, here, here, here, here, here, and here), the Obama team intimidating Hillary’s voting delegates either before or at the 2008 Democratic Convention (see here, here, and here), Obama as community activist, Obama’s Chief Strategist David Axelrod playing the Astrotrurfing game — planting videos and stories on the Internet to change public opinion — on Hillary and Palin (for Hillary see here, and Palin see here, here, and here), Obama’s phony and completely slanderous Spanish language ad (If you can’t divide people by race, then slander and divide them by ethnic group), Obama’s friendship with and sponsorship by the unrepentant (unapologetic and unreformed) domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn (see here, here, here, here, here, here, and here), Obama helping his Marxist cousin gain power in Kenya, Obama’s ties to the corrupt activist group ACORN that promotes voter fraud and helped create the mortgage crisis (see here, here, here, here, and here), and ACORN paid by Obama and registering phony voters now to steal the 2008 election (see here, here, here, here, here, and here). Whether it’s stealing delegates in Democratic caucuses or votes on Election Day, it’s all part of the Chicago Way!

Given the Obama campaign tactics, I’m sure there’s more going on that I’m not even aware of. Since the Leftist MSM — especially the men — are dreaming of having hot, steamy man-love with Obama (see here, here, here, and here), I try to stay informed by visiting conservative sites such as Hot Air, Michelle Malkin, Atlas Shrugs (Pam is a great investigative journalist, but her in-your-face style isn’t for everybody), JOSHUAPUNDIT, Wolf Howling, Jim Treacher (I like Treacher’s humor), Fausta’s Blog and Media Lizzy (who both have good shows on BlogTalkRadio). I also from time to time check out PUMA sites such as NO QUARTER and The Confluence. You might be wondering, why does a conservative visit PUMA sites? While I don’t agree with their policies, what I’ve slowly come to realize was that in 2008 the PUMAs were the first line of defense against a Mob-style takeover of the Democratic Party by an alliance of the far Left and the Chicago Democratic Machine. Now the Federal Government is next! (Remember the famous words of Reverend Niemoller.)

A Short Review of Obama’s Chicago Way

Reminiscent of classic films on the corrupting effects of pursuing political power such as “All The King’s Men” (1949) and “The Candidate” (1972) as well as the old-time gangster movies “Little Caesar” (1931) and “Scarface” (1932), Obama’s Chicago Way documents the rise of “America’s greatest and most dangerous demagogue.”

A troubled, charismatic young man with a taste for power, fame and vengeance is schooled in deceptiveness and radical ideas by far Left activists. As a cover for his radicalism, he joins a popular, bigoted church that claims to be Christian, but teaches a form of liberation theology, i.e., Marxist class struggle mixed with some Christianity. After several years as a community activist, he goes to law school, and then enters the corrupt world of Chicago politics.

Putting into practice the worst he’s learned from everyone, he games the political system and loses whatever remains of his youthful integrity. Although he tries to appear as moderate as possible, given the right opportunity — one that won’t damage his career — he’ll denounce capitalists and apply radical Left principles.

He becomes increasingly focused on removing opponents and gaining more power at any cost. Because of his obvious intelligence and great charisma, he’s able to attract and hold the allegiance of his wife, financial donors, campaign workers and political supporters, who all believe he has the potential to be a great leader, even a political messiah. This despite the fact that he’s a classic underachiever: he’s done very little while holding any political office.

He builds a cult-like following based on his personal magnetism, populist slogans and empty promises, not by reason or accomplishments — which, by the way, is the classic definition of a demagogue. As he slanders and demonizes his opponents with subtle charges of racism, he becomes increasingly arrogant (also here, here and here) and manipulative. Most of the time he’s skillful enough to cover any mistakes. Amazingly, as his mentoring by far Left radicals and bigoted religious leaders (see here, here and here) becomes known to the public, it’s had only a temporary effect on his popularity. He’s greatly helped, however, by a fawning media who have fallen under his spell, who glowingly cover him day and night, and who want him to win so badly they’ll distort facts for him (see here and here). Taking full advantage of an unpopular war, the mistakes of political competitors, and using deception and strong-arm tactics whenever necessary, he becomes the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.

Campaigning during a time of financial crisis, he blames it all on Republicans and runs the dirtiest political race in modern times against a war hero and long-time Senator with a genuine record of achievement. The film ends on November 4 with the question: “Have we as a nation become so blind that we no longer recognize a true demagogue?”
